P-public is part of a series of international meetings of young creative professionals, Z-A-interaction. Since late 2007, the events have been taking place in different cities, following the reverse order of the alphabet and associated with a different explicit topic of discussion each time.

Z-A-interaction has been providing opportunities to share ideas and start future collaborations among a network of creative people, hosted by independent and institutional organizations, in intellectual and pleasant atmosphere.

This year, in collaboration with the Architects Association of Chania, the 11th “interaction” will take place in Chania, Crete, on the 19th and 20th of June 2010, hosted by K.A.M. - Centre of Mediterranean Architecture, under the title “p-public”.

P for public

With the ambition to improve the quality of everyday life, this collective initiative of young people aims to interact with the city of Chania to redefine the meaning and use of open public space.

To trigger this dialogue, young architects from Greece and abroad will propose strategies of intervention and solutions that answer to the needs of the modern cities through a series of interactive presentations, that will take place in the Centre of Mediterranean Architecture.

Parallel events

Along with the meeting/ on the sidelines of the meeting a variety of cultural events will take place in the open spaces of the city.

Live music concerts, theatrical happenings, a bike city tour, parties, installations, photo exhibitions, film projections and events for children will be open and free for everybody living in or visiting the city of Chania!

We invite you to re-discover your city by taking part in this initiative emerging by the volunteer cooperation of active citizens.

Audiovisual documentation of the „p_public“ meeting and the various events will be published on a DVD by local print media. All material will be also available on our web-site.
